Who says dog's don't smile? Bread and Po'boys..OH MY!

That's my boy dog Hook. He is a wonderful, packed with energy chocolate lab. I just love him. I swear he is smiling!

Over the weekend I was a DOMESTIC DIVA!! I made homemade bread. I was so proud of myself. My first attempt at homemade bread was just bad. It came out like a hard brick that you could use for the beginning of a foundation for a house. That was many, many moons ago and I just thought that bread making was not for me.

I decided to give it another chance when I cam across this recipe over at Tammy's Recipes. It was easy to follow and the bread came out great!

Here is my yeast a'risen: Here is my final product: Not to shabby, eh?

I also made shrimp po'boys for dinner. And this is how they turned out: What you will need:

40-50 medium shrimp

all purpose flour

oil (for frying)

2 eggs

garlic powder, salt and pepper to season flour

Heat oil to 360 degrees. Beat eggs together in a bowl. In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, garlic and pepper in the flour. Cover each shrimp in the eggs, then cover in flour. Place each in the hot oil. Fry them for approximately 4 minutes. Do not over cook. Drain well on a paper towel lined plate.

We used hoagie rolls for the bun. We also had lettuce, tomato and onions. For our condiment we made a "shrimp paste" but I didn't particularly care for it. Next time, I will go for a garlic and herb type mayo or something like that. Let me know if you try this recipe and what you think.

Next time I'm going to try to grill or skillet the shrimp instead of frying to save on some calories.

I love your camera... all your pictures are so freaking good. Too bad Hook isn't as photogenic as my pups :)
